Ahhh, Safari, you little orphan.

Safari was giving this message:

"Safari can’t open the page.
Too many redirects occurred trying to open “http://www.mydomain.com/?pid=1?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611?pid=30611”. This might occur if you open a page that is redirected to open another page which then is redirected to open the original page."

I had to make a little switch in PHP header redirection for Safari.
From:
header("location:?pid=30611");

To:
header("location:/?pid=30611");

IIS Server Update 12/15/08

IIS Server update 12/15 added a port 443 entry to my test website, and that prevented my regular website from starting, saying a port was already in use.
Removed the port 443 (SSL) entry from my test site and all is well.

New Chrome on iGoogle.

Google Chrome Browser adds new functionality to iGoogle.

Interaction with Gmail is improved - you don't move away from the page when you click on an email.

It adds a left hand navigation through your modules (when you are in one)
Nice, Nice, Nice.

Google Chrome

So far, I found Google Chrome to be ok. I have been an Opera user (along with all the other browsers) for while. I never liked Safari, because it rendered the fonts so much differently.

So far, Chrome is better. But so far, some features really stand out to me:
1. I like the automatic adding of sites that I visit most often to speed dial - I add the speed dial add- on to Firefox first, because I love it in Opera. Chrome's version adds the sites automagically - nice.

2. I closed a tab that I didn't mean to. When I opend up a new tab to search for it - low and behold, on the left side of the page, it said 'recently closed tabs'. I opened it up - it was close - I wanted the page before it - but the back button was "active" so I clicked it, and bingo!

3. Finally, the google search box is gone. Firefox 3 has the search in the toolbar, and skips the www, so why was it necessary anymore?

Better DeFragger for Windows Vista

Vista's Defragger has bugged me since I got Vista.
http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag/download

No Idea whether it works better yet - I just like it better.

Stop Windows Vista Password Expiration

1. Open the Start Menu.
2. In the white line (Start Search) area, type cmd
3. Right click the cmd.exe icon (black box at top of the program menu) and click Run as administrator.
4. Type net accounts /maxpwage:unlimited and press Enter. (See screenshot below)
5. If you get the the "command completed successfully" message you're done.

Run Programs from Vista's Search Menu

New to Vista? I still am. I just found out this handy tip though. Run programs from your Search bar.
Right Click on the Start Button and Select Properties. Check the box that says "Search Programs"

Now, you can go to the search bar, type "Opera", and start your favority web browser.

What? You don't have Opera 9.5? Maybe you don't like fast browsers? Maybe you're name is Slowski?

I used my Floppy Drive today!

I just couldn't believe it!
JK brought a logo over that he got on a 3.5" diskette.

The Logo was for a radio station - "80's, 90's and Today".

Guess the technology is the 80's part.
